The essential components of electronic products are inseparable from welding processing, so welding knowledge and product material temperature resistance are equally important.
As a connector manufacturer usually in the user selection time to more topics: plate end needle seat in welding to achieve the temperature standard.
In fact, plastic raw materials because of the different characteristics of its temperature is not the same, after testing verified connector products generally through wave soldering and flow is completely no problem.
Connector manufacturers commonly used plastic raw materials are: NylongT, Nylon6T, LCP, PA66 and so on.
Wave welding more commonly used plastic material temperature: PA66 220-230℃, Nylon6T 265℃;
The temperature of adhesive material commonly used for reflow welding: Nylon9T 295℃, Nylon6T 265℃, LCP 295℃.
So what’s the difference between wave soldering and reflow soldering?
Wave soldering is mainly used to weld pin components, while reflow is mainly connected with SMT components.
Wave soldering in the reflow section of this area, the temperature of the heater is set to the highest, so that the temperature of the component quickly rises to the peak temperature.
In the reflow section, the welding peak temperature varies depending on the solder paste used.
It is generally recommended to add 20-40℃ to the melting point temperature of the solder paste.
For 63Sn/37Pb with melting point of 183℃, solder paste and Sn62/Pb36/Ag2 solder paste with melting point of 179℃, the peak temperature is generally 210-230 degrees, and the re-flow time should not be too long to prevent adverse effects on SMA.
The ideal temperature curve is to minimize the area of the hock beyond the welding melting point.
Reflow welding process requirements for reflow furnace temperature with lead:
1. The temperature rise rate from 40℃ to 120℃ is 1-3℃/S
2. 120℃-175℃ constant temperature time should be controlled in 60-120 seconds
3. The time over 183℃ should be controlled between 45-90 seconds
4. Over 200℃ time control in 10-20 seconds, the highest peak at 220℃±5℃
5. The cooling rate shall be controlled between 3-5℃/s.
6. General furnace transmission speed control in 70-90cm/min is better.
Specific process control
Generally, when there is a mixture of lead solder paste and lead-free components, the temperature set value (measured value) of reflow welding furnace is 5-10℃ higher than that of the full lead process, 5-10℃ lower than that of the full lead process, and the maximum temperature peak of the mixing process is controlled at 230-238 ℃.
Therefore, in addition to considering the material used by the connector, it is also important to consider the welding process when choosing the connector.
